CENTRAL OHIO SWIM ASSOCIATION (COSA) - COSA Website

We are members of a developmental league that allows a swimmer the opportunity to develop with swimmers at his/her own level. For the most part, the swimmer will decide what events they will swim in these meets. The coaching staff can and will limit the number of swimmers per event. In other words, those swimmers who are swimming individual events in GCSL meets may be asked to limit their involvement in COSA meets all together. This will prevent experienced swimmers from taking all the awards. Once a child achieves a certain cut-off time, they can no longer swim that event or distance in the COSA developmental league. Swimmers will signup for events during practice on Wednesday or Thursday, before each Saturday meet. Ribbons are awarded to first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth place legal finishers in each individual event. The four members of a legal first, second or third place relay team in each age/gender group will receive ribbons also. There are no diving events in this league. Dual meets will be held on Saturday mornings at 9:00am. No team score is kept in this league. All home COSA meets are held at the Jack Florance Pool at Mingo Park.

GREATER COLUMBUS SWIM LEAGUE (GCSL) - GCSL Website

This is the league where we hope to achieve individual and team success. GCSL is a tough league. Unlike COSA developmental meets, where any number of swimmers may enter an event, this league allows only four (4) swimmers or relays per event. Sometimes this leaves the inexperienced swimmers out of this league. Those swimmers have the opportunity to swim in COSA meets on Saturday mornings. Team scores are kept in this league. The GCSL schedule is listed above, and we expect all swimmers to attend meets if they are scheduled to swim.  The GCSL swimming/dive meet lineup will be read during practice on each Tuesday, the day before the meet. The GCSL meets are pretty exciting to watch, even if your swimmer is not involved. Ribbons are awarded in each GCSL individual age/gender group event to all legal participants. 18U and 14U relays finishing first, second and third legally will be awarded ribbons. In 8U, 10U and 12U legal relays have ribbons awarded through 8th place. Dual swim meets will be held on Wednesday evenings at 6:00pm. All home GCSL swim meets are held at the Jack Florance Pool at Mingo Park.

This is the league where diving competitions will be held at each dual meet. Points earned in diving events go toward team scores, so we need to cheer and support our divers at their meets. Dual diving meets will be held on Wednesday evenings at 4:00pm. All home GCSL diving meets are held at the Jack Florance pool. Please note, it is a GCSL rule that each swimmer and diver must be members of the Jack Florance Pool to be eligible to compete in any GCSL meet.
